Early Help

Early Help

At Stretton Church of England Academy, we strive to ensure that families are able to access the right support at the right time. We understand how complicated family life can be and there may be times when you need extra support. If you do find yourself in a difficult situation, please make us aware of this and we will always find the time to listen.

The Early Help lead at Stretton Church of England Academy is Mrs Inwards.

The aim of Early Help is to help you as soon as possible and prevent problems from getting worse by providing you support, as early as possible. Early Help services can help families, children and young people - pre-birth to 19 years old and 25 years old where there are special educational needs or disabilities.

It may be that Early Help can be offered in the form of focused pastoral support or simply us being able to signpost you to other services within Coventry.

Virtual Family Hub – Coventry City Council

The Virtual Family Hub contains helpful resources that are available to you online, on the phone or face to face that you can access directly yourself.

If it is still felt that further, more intensive support is needed, school & families can begin an Early Help assessment to identify what can be put in place to reach positive outcomes.

Early Help Assessment -

For those children and families whose needs and circumstances make them more vulnerable, or where schools need the support of other agencies to meet the needs of the family, a coordinated multi-agency approach is usually best. In Lancashire this is achieved through undertaking an Early Help Assessment and assigning a Lead Practitioner to work closely with the family to ensure they receive the support they require. Schools should be a key partner in any multi-agency work to support families.

Green Doctor Support

The Green Doctor can help families who are struggling with the cost of heating but also other household bills. They also help with benefits, fuel, Food Bank Vouchers and Water Bills through supporting with applying for grants that are available. They will also be looking at ways to maximise income.

Someone from the Green Doctor will be basing themselves at the Family Hubs across Coventry to coincide with the Stay and Play Sessions that are run.
