Welcome to the Nest 2024-2025 Mr Bird.
Learning News
Forest School
In forest school this term we have been learning how to safely use tools and have created 'hammer art'. We have developed knife and axe skills and have made our own mallets and tent pegs which we used to build a shelter!
We have also been learning how to light a fire and cook on it - we started with toasting marshmallows and have worked up to a meal of sausage, mash and beans!

What we are learning
In the Nest we offer an alternative curriculum where the pupils learn through a more practical approach. We promote working together as a team. Pupils enjoy music, cooking and learning outdoors especially. Pupils are very proud of their work and their confidence in their own abilities is growing, daily!
Design & Technology (Cooking)
Friday afternoon in the Nest is cooking! So far we have designed and created pizzas, subway sandwiches, fruit kebabs and pumpkin pies! The children have worked hard on their listening skills to follow instructions to create (and eat) these tasty treats!
