Internet Safety

Internet Safety

The aim of our e-safety commitment to pupils, parents and staff is to ensure that children access modern technology in a safe environment. We aim to educate children to be positive and responsible 'digital citizens' who can use online communication devices safely to support their learning and their understanding of the world. Children will be equipped with the skills and information to keep themselves safe online, to know how to create and share information positively, and to be confident about what they should do if they have any concerns about their own online safety or that of others.

With the proliferation of mobile services and the core role that online communication plays in modern societies, an appreciation of e-safety is more important than ever before. It is vital that families, school and children work together to ensure children have positive and inspiring experiences of the internet so that they can explore, discover and share ideas in a way that supports their development.  The selection of resources listed below has been selected to help families and teaching staff to support children to understand how to stay safe online. These resources are not exhaustive, but do give a helpful introduction to e-safety that can be accessed at an appropriate level to engage your child in constructive conversation about e-safety.

Our designated member of staff for Internet Safety is Roberta Mainwaring.
