Assessment in Maths

How we assess progress and attainment in Maths

  • Assessment for learning takes place daily during the Maths lesson; slower graspers are identified and supported through the use of focused group work where similar needs arise.  As well as this, faster graspers are encouraged to demonstrate different ways of solving a problem.
  • At the end of every term, a White Rose Assessment is carried out, with both an Arithmetic and Reasoning paper.
  • Information from tests is collated and RAG rated for teachers to identify any gaps in learning, and then address as next steps in teaching.
