Cross-curricular links

Where relevant, cross-curricular links are cultivated and understanding of RE is supported by learning in Science, History, Geography, Art and PSHE, in particular. Similarly, children’s study in other areas of the curriculum has been sequenced to ensure children have opportunities to build on and embed what they have learned in R.E. and to provide context, in some cases (e.g. when studying Indian history in Y4). Where appropriate, teachers may make use of picture book texts to support development and application of principles learned in R.E. (suggested texts that teachers may use have been identified in Appendix 1 of the downloadable policy, but teachers may draw on other texts where appropriate).
